The Rosemary, Salvia rosmarinus, is a species of shrubs of the family Lamiaceae (or Labiées), growing in the wild on the Mediterranean perimeter, especially in the arid and rocky garrigues, on calcareous soils
Fresh or dried, this condimentary herb is found in Mediterranean cuisine, and a domesticated variety is cultivated in gardens It is a melliferous plant; rosemary honey, or «Narbonne honey» is renowned. It is also a product frequently used in perfumery. Finally, it is attributed many phytotherapeutic virtues.
